Sadhana Forest is a reforestation project and a volunteer community designed around compassion. It is a place where compassion is embedded into the smallest detail of daily life. Veganism, non-violent communication, solar and human powered energy, biodegradable toiletries, riding bicycles, recycling, food composting, construction from local and natural materials, dry compost toilets, water-efficient hand washing – these are all components of an attempt to live harmoniously with our environment and everyone who we share it with. We invite you to live a transformative lifestyle in which acting compassionately is the norm.
Sadhana Forest was founded in 2013 in Auroville, Tamil Nadu. People of all ages from all over India and the world are participating. This very diverse community is dedicated to the healing of the earth and its people. It is a place for personal growth and transformation. The community started two more Sadhana Forests in Haiti in 2010 and in Kenya in 2014.
