The Emerge produced video series What is Emerging? has won an award for Best Series at FICA.VC international audiovisual festival in Brazil.
What is Emerging? is a three part video series exploring how economic realities are created and upheld and considering the role of art and culture in helping us to reframe these narratives for the good of the planet.

Maria Clara Parente and Camilla Cardoso

In an interview with Emerge, filmmakers Maria Clara Parente and Camilla Cardoso (creators of the YouTube channel This is Not the Truth) said that by making the series they aimed to create an awareness of how deeply we are connected to the web of life, each other and society. “Once we start to see things from this perspective of interconnectedness we can start to move towards new ways of imagining the future,” said Camilla.
The theme of this year’s FICA.VC festival was ‘the future in the present of the audiovisual sector’, with lectures on Blockchain and cryptocurrency, and a selection of documentaries, animation, video art and YouTube channels with a focus on environmental issues.
